Claus Gunti (PhD) is an art historian, writer and curator. He is lecturer at the University of Art and Design Lausanne (ECAL) and coordinator at the Centre de la photographie Genève. His research focusses on the intersection of art and technology, new forms of photographic practices and digital culture. His recent writing includes texts on augmented reality and identity, Julian Charrière and border surveillance (Foam Magazine #62). His book Digital Image Systems. Photography and New Technologies at the Düsseldorf School came out in 2020 and in 2021 he co-published the book Automated Photography with Milo Keller and Florian Amoser, also shown as an exhibition in Europe and Asia. Currently he is writing a book on photographic objects for the new book series Superscripte and has been addressing the use of drones in Ukraine, for a documentary on Arte and an upcoming book for RVB Books by Gaétan Uldry. Making Light of Every Thing, a show curated with Danaé Panchaud addressing intimacy and various image fabrication processes, is on view until 28.4.2024.
